We are on the Lord's time

Fam!

We had a good week but a heartbreaking one. We had an awesome zone training on Thursday and Zr nelson is the sis training leader so she gave part of it also and she did AMAZING!! It was so good. It was all about motivations and that was tested for me this week. We went over to make cookies with Joy and Victor and Courage and when we get there Joy tells us that the Father wont let Courage get baptized... I was super upset and we were sitting there and I was thinking am I mad because that's one less baptism I will get or am I upset because he wont receive the happiness from the gospel. And I have to admit that it was about me at first. And then I changed right then. I'm not here on a mission to baptize the most people or get the most recognition. I'm here to bring people to Christ and serve with all my heart might mind and strength. It was a really needed insight for me. And its helped me a lot. I am obviously sad for Courage especially because his favorite story is Joseph Smith. But I know he will accept it one day. We are on the Lords time.
We went over to a potential investigators house and her husband opened and was giving us all these questions and being really rude. And if we didn't know an answer he would get upset and it was really strange. He was saying the science wasn't good back then so Joseph was crazy...  so I decided just to testify. I know Joseph saw God and Jesus Christ. I know it. And just like Joseph I cant deny it.  and he wanted a sign and I told him he wouldn't get one but if he read the Book of Mormon he would know its true. I could feel the strength of the Holy Ghost as I testified. What was really sad was that he was taking his wife's agency away. and he wouldn't let us come back but he said he would read the Book of Mormon so he will be calling missionaries in the Future.
Lucia came to church again!! She is doing awesome. She made us dinner this week and it was sooooo good!!!! haha

I love you all and I know this is the work of the Lord! Do things because you love the Lord. We are unprofitable servants :)

One Year on July 24th!

Fam!
OK we had an awesome week! On Monday we went to Joys house and we ate fufu with them like I told you last week. Then we played a game about the gospel of Jesus Christ. And the boys knew all of the answers! It was incredible. Even their mom was impressed! And we told them about the Priesthood and that they could have it! It was so cool and Courage the youngest said "I want to get baptized right now!" haha it was so cool!!! But he has to get permission first but I have faith that he will.
Eating fufu with Courage

Then we went over to Lucia house the Suriname lady and had an awesome lesson with her. And she was in church this week! The boys couldn't come because they had to go to church with their mom but I'm pretty sure they are coming next week. We went back over to their house yesterday night and taught Courage about the Restoration and I asked him what he thought about it and he said I think its a really cool story! Remember that this is coming from an 8 year old who did not grow up in the church! its incredible then we were talking to him about baptism and we asked him if he wanted to get baptized because he wanted to or cause he felt like he had to and he said I want to and I have too! it was so awesome!!

We found a super awesome lady this week. She is from the Dominican Republic and she has a boyfriend in the U.S and she is going there on Vacation to Ohio for three weeks. She remembers in the DR when she was young and having the missionaries over and she was so excited to see us and she was just so excited about everything! she is going to give a Book of Mormon to her boyfriend and pamphlets and she was just super awesome! It was a really great week!

I love it here. I cant believe its been so long. The next transfer day is the 3rd of August. So we will see in two weeks if I stay or go.
My testimony has grown so much since I have been here. I love it so much. This is the work of the Lord and we can't do it without Him. With Him we can do everything because He is our strength. I am so grateful for His love and guidance in missionary work and in everything!

I love you all!

Eating Fufu with Courage and Joy

Fam!
We had a pretty great week this week! Courage and Victor came to church again :) They love it!
We got to watch the Nederland Argentina game on Wednesday and we didn't get home until like 1 30... the next day was terrible! haha but so worth it!
We taught Courage about faith this week and Joy about the plan of salvation she really likes it she just doesn't get the need for changing... But things are going good! We are eating Fufu with them tonight which is an African dish I'm so excited!
We also taught Lousha this week and she is making us dinner on Thursday.
The best miracle we had was on Wednesday. It was pouring rain.. I know shocker... and we were knocking doors and we were lead by the spirit. and we knocked on a door and a lady answers and says well this is a coincidence that you guys are here. We just became christians and are looking for something. How awesome is that??? We have a lesson with them on Wednesday!!
I have learned a lot! I have learned a lot about change and trusting in the Lord. Things happen on His time and sometimes we forget that and want it on our time. That's how it has been for me most of my mission. I want to baptize people. Everyone does. But it's on the Lords time. I may not be in the area when they get baptize but I can still help them. Its been a process that I'm trying to go through. I wish I could change instantly but I can't. Eternal things grow slowly. My mindset is changing. And I'm doing it for Him and not for me. I owe everything to the Lord. Mosiah 2:21 I think haha we can serve all day every day and still be unprofitable servants. He is who we need to rely on!

I love you all so much!
I can't believe LeBron is back on the Cavs... that's crazy...
Well we didn't get any ipads yet... haha oh well I like the Old School missionary work just as much! Love you!

more investigators and 3 at church!!!

Fam!
We had a great week this week! I got to go on exchanges with the zone leaders and I went with Elder Alston who is one of my best friends out here on the mission. We just had a blast! We taught a first lesson together and I ended up going to wijk raad [district council]with him so it was a super fun day and we were just talking about sports and everything it was super awesome!
We got two new investigators this week. I was gone so I don't know a lot of the details. One is a Rastafarian homie and he is just super chill. He speaks nederengles with us (Dutch and English combined). And then last transfer we contacted this lady going door to door and she opened her upstairs window and told us to come back because I think she had just gotten out of the shower. So the next time we showed up she started laughing and I think that's why. But we finally caught her home and she said she doesn't want her son to grow up in the same religion as her and she kind of wants to change too. So they are super positive!
We got permission to watch the Belgium-Argentina game this week! But the Netherlands played at 10 pm so we couldn't watch that one. I don't know if we will be allowed to watch any of the games. The next one is at 10 pm again. But we will find out tomorrow if we can! I hope so. Ive fallen in love with soccer since Ive been here. I'm definitely playing intramural soccer when I get home. Its so sick :) haha
I'm glad you got my box! wear those jerseys with pride Collin :) or whoever wears them :) Send me some pictures with you guys in the jerseys :)
Sunday we had three people in church!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had victor and courage (11 and 8) and Lousha a Suriname lady that we have been teaching and it was a goooood testimony meeting. Super good. The Lord has been blessing us a lot!
The Lord knows who we are and what we need in life. He knows how to help us and exactly what we need. I have such a strong testimony about that. That he lets us fall a little so that we can be build up even more than we were!!!
I love you all so much :)
