Hola!

Fam!

We had a super busy week! We had Zone Conferences and they went really well! We got to watch Meet the Mormons! What an awesome movie the church made! I really enjoyed it!

Friday we had an awesome day! We are now teaching a family from the Dominican Republic. The parents only speak Spanish and on Friday we only taught the mom. We brought a joint teach from Peru and the lesson was awesome! I felt like Elder Bosco II :) haha I didn't understand that much of it but the Spirit was there and the lady told us that she loves talking to us because our message is so simple and clear! How true is that! The lessons are so clear. We taught her el plan del salvacion haha :) (Tell Ka I really can speak spanish.) Yo hablo espanol! But it was so cool to see how open she was. She really wants to come to church so hopefully they come on Sunday! Its crazy how many different languages there are here! We taught Andre Friday night and we followed up on the word of wisdom and he was so happy to tell us that he hasn't smoked since Sunday! and he threw out all his coffee and tea and bought Rooibos tea and honey! So awesome!! He was so happy and he feels so much better!!! We might have to move his date to the 15th of march but he is super ready to be baptized! :)

Cool miracle Sunday and also a bummer but there is an American family that came into church and they were from Mapleton! And they knew a lot of the same people that I knew. They had a daughter that is Wesley's age that hung out with Grayson Magleby a couple times. We had a good talk about people we knew but the miracle was that I overheard the dad talking about how he went on his mission to Hungary! That's where Ilona is from. Unfortunately she is in Hungary for 2 weeks... But hopefully we can set something up that he can come with us once before they leave. They are here for 3 weeks.

I am so grateful that we have prayer! We can talk to our Heavenly Father who is all knowing and loving! He is waiting for us to ask Him for certain things. A lot of times we need to just ask. over and over again in the scriptures it says ask and ye shall receive but often we forget to ask and then to act! God loves us so much that he wants to answer our prayers! :)

I love you all :)

What an incredible gift from our Heavenly Father!

Fam!

Another great week!

Last Sunday Andre and Kjelld came to church and they loved it!! They are coming tomorrow which is going to be awesome. We have a lesson tonight with Kjelld at a families home! I'm super excited!

Wednesday was an incredible day. I got to work with Elder Cook. He is from SLC. He went to East. We had an incredible day. We taught Ilona and her daughter was there. We taught her the restoration and Ilona was sharing her testimony! So awesome! And so Ilona and her daughter and her two kids are coming to church tomorrow. Then we taught a boy who's mom is a member but he is not baptized. He will come around. He knows its good.

Then we didn't have much time but we felt like we should look up this referral we got from Salt Lake. So we go and the lady was shocked that we were there. She let us in. And she told us that she was friends with the lady that referred her. They were friends through FB. Because they both liked an Ed Sheeran page. God works in Mysterious ways. Her brother has cancer and we taught her the first lesson and it was powerful. We testified of the peace of the gospel and the power of the priesthood. We are going to go back to give a blessing to her brother. She also might come to church. She was such a nice lady and just open to the gospel. She just wants to find peace in her life.

Then we taught Andre the word of wisdom. And at first he was surprised of the things we couldn't do but as we told him it was from God he was willing to try. He is going to stop all of them! Just an incredible day of teaching people about the gospel and bringing them closer to Christ!

We also got to give a presentation on Friday about the spirit and it was a really good meeting. The spirit was strong. The Holy Ghost works differently with all of us. But we have the right to have His spirit with us always once we make that covenant with him through baptism. We must also keep that covenant to have His spirit with us always! What an incredible gift from our Heavenly Father!

I love you all! Thanks for all the support and love!

Groetjes!

* This is part of Elder Bean's letter this week: (Elder Bean and Elder Bosco will be roommates at BYU next fall so I'm sure they were so excited to see each other- they were great friends in the MTC)

*This week was a lot of fun with a lot of meetings! Tuesday we had District Meeting in Zwolle and that was great, we then went on exchanges and I got to go with Elder Bosco. It was so fun, it’s so crazy to see him since we were in the MTC together and we haven’t worked with each other since. We have seen each other at Conferences and stuff like that but NEVER worked with each other except for Tuesday and it was awesome. We drove all the way back to Apeldoorn and had a look up with an older Dutch women. She is so sweet. She led us in and we got to teach the First lesson with her. Even though Elder Bosco and I have never taught together or even practiced together, we taught with amazing unity and it was so powerful. She went on during the lesson talking about how her husband passed away but still feels his presence around her. She told us that she just wants to go on to the next life and see him but feels like she still has something to do here on earth. Everything she said, related to a principle of the gospel. And that happens everyday, people have their opinions and all of that mostly fits right into the Restored Gospel, it’s amazing how that works. This lady is a special lady and is now committed to get baptized March 22. The Gospel Changes Lives.

It has changed me!

Fam!

Again what a week!

Last Saturday night we had two appointments. It was really cool to see the difference. The first one we went to this guy and his cousin was there and he was just arguing and Bourne and I just kept bearing testimony. He told us that we were being led by the devil and that our church wasn't true and just trying to destroy us but as we stayed calm and bore Testimony of the truthfulness of a Prophet on the earth today he couldn't shake us because we knew the truth. So we left that appointment and usually after that you just feel kind of down and get to thinking but we didn't doubt we knew God was with us because of the spirit we felt and we had another appointment to go to. This guys name is Kjelld. He is about 23 and is a student from a place close to Curacoa. We went in and taught him a lesson. And the spirit was so strong and he was so open. He told us that is was logical what we were saying. We invited him to be baptized and he agreed and we set a date with him. He was so happy and asked us where he could buy a Book of Mormon. We looked at each other and turned back to him and handed him the one we were planning on giving him. He was so thankful and is so excited to come to church. He said he has been looking for something like this. It was truly incredible. :)

Then we taught Ilona twice this week. The first time I was not there and she told Elder Bourne about the first time when Elder Elkins and I were there. She said she didn't really want to talk to us but she is just a really nice lady so she let us in. She then went on to tell them that when we sat down she saw a light around us. And ever since that day there has been a light in her home that she loves. So she told her daughter about it and her daughter was a little skeptical about it so she told her to come to her house and that they would look it up online to see more about it. Bourne was a little nervous when he first heard that because a lot of people run into wrong stuff on the internet. But she said we read about it and now we both know that it is true. And we both really want to get baptized. What a blessing! Ilona is so prepared to hear the message! Then we went and taught her the Word of Wisdom. When we went it she was drinking coffee so I was a little nervous. But I knew God was on my side. So we go on teaching her and we start teaching her what she cant do and we tell her smoking (she smokes) and coffee and all that stuff and she kind of looked shocked. She paused for a second and then she stands up and goes and pours her coffee down the sink!!! She comes back and says I am done drinking coffee and smoking. If God asks me to do something I will do it! The spirit was so strong at that moment. It was so cool! Such a cool experience! We got a ride for her so she should be coming to church! We are really excited for her!

I know the gospel is true. It gives us hope. I love the Mormon message
The Hope of Gods Light.  (click here to watch it)
The gospel is what we all need in our lives. I don't know who reads this but I know that if you study the gospel and if you investigate if you are not a member God will show you this light and it will bring a hope in your life that will change you forever. It has changed me!

I love you!!

With God nothing is impossible

Fam,

This has been such an incredible week.

Elder Bourne and I have been praying not just to find and teach people but also to baptize people. We realized that God wants us to do this and if we have righteous desires He will help us.

So last Saturday we had a lesson with Andre. We set a date with him! He is awesome. He really wants to get baptized. We set a goal on when he wanted to be done smoking and he said I can do this. He is incredible. He used to be on super hard drugs but he realized that it was bad and wants to change and BE CLEAN. Well good thing we have baptism and the Atonement! :)

Wednesday was an incredible day. I got to go on exchanges with one of my best friends on the mission (Elder Elkins). And the spirit was incredible all day. We were looking people up and talking to people and we got a little lost and a lot of kinda weird stuff happened but we found out why it happened. We ran into ilona. We talked to her on the street and we walked to her house with her and taught her a Restoration and set a date with her. And at the beginning of the lesson we were just talking about how God loves her and she started crying and telling us how she had had a hard week. And then we came. :) It was one of the best experiences of my mission. And I got to share it with a dear friend. She said the closing prayer in Hungaries or her language and we both started to tear up. The spirit was so incredible! And she is eating up the gospel. We taught her the second lesson and she told us it just made sense. She is from Hungry. I love her so much. God is good. :) We were also just finding people and taught some more lessons.

The next day we went up to Groningen and I got to work with Elder Woltjen! We had an incredible day. We went to go look up a lady and just contacted int he area and set up 5 or 6 appointments for the next Thursday. Then we went to this lady and she let us in. She was a former investigator from a long time ago but we taught her the Restoration. But before we started she said. Boys I have to tell you something. Yesterday I was sitting right where you were and she pointed and me. And I was thinking and I got down on my knees and asked God to never let go of me. she said. Laat me nooit loos. And them she said and now you are here. the very next day. And we told her that God had answered her prayers and she wants all of her family to get baptized. :) Now she just needs to come to church and I think that was her problem before. But with God nothing is impossible.

God loves us. He cares about us. He knows what we need. He knows how to comfort us. And I have experienced all these things. And I have felt a little how God feels for us. I have felt His love for other people. And it is one of the best experiences I have had on my mission. To feel the love of God for His children and to know that He loves me just as much! Prayer is real! God will answer if we trust in Him! It may not be the way we expect but He will answer! I love you all so much!!

Ik hou van jullie!

Trust in Him

Fam,

We had an interesting week! haha

We went to three zone training's. They were great!! We have some incredible leaders and missionaries in the mission! We have been learning about how to be better teachers. We are studying chapter 10 in PMG.[Preach My Gospel]

We didn't have a lot of time in Amsterdam this week. But we did get to teach Margaritha. He is incredible. We were going to teach the 2 lesson but he wasn't able to read the Book of Mormon or go to church so we switched plans and read 2 Nephi 31. We taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ and hit baptism hard. We have been talking a lot about baptism lately. And we realized that we have gotten into a small slump and if we didn't correct it it would not change. We realized that we had been praying for success and to find and teach people! Which is great! But we were missing a piece! We want these people to get baptized! If that's with us or later we still want it to happen! So we have been praying for that also. God was answering our prays we were finding and teaching. He gave us what we asked for. We don't want to baptize these people to say we baptized them but the Gospel will change their life. That's what we want! :) Our lesson went well with Margaritha. He needs to go to church and read. But we have another lesson with him next Tuesday so we will see. I'm really excited for him! He is really prepared!

Its been a great learning week for me. Sometimes we are asked to do things that we don't understand or don't know why we have to do it. But God does know. God knows we can handle it and knows that this is what will help us grow. We may not always understand why but He does. He will help us progress if we trust in Him. :)

I love you!
