Who needs to be in the Olympics to keep in shape?

Fam,
This week was great and also frustrating.
We taught Ruben and Vincent three times so that was super good. They like what we are teaching but they haven't gotten an answer yet if this is what they want. They said they were going to come to church but then when we went to pick them up they didn't answer the door cause they slept in... But they really want to come to see if its something they want in their lives.

We had some awesome finding miracles this week. Seriously I have two awesome ones and the second one is unbelievable. The first one is we went to go invite a guy to a YSA [Young Single Adult] activity (its Jovos in Dutch) but we were talking to him and he is actually from Colorado in the same area as Elder Claflin. So we were talking to him about the Broncos and stuff and then we invited him to the jovo activity. and out of nowhere comes this black guy and says where is the Mormon church in Apeldoorn so we told him and he said and what activity you guys talkin bout :) so great. they didn't come to church but they were super positive and we had a great feeling about them. And miracle two. unreal. We were doing bell ups at an apartment and sometimes we forget if we pressed one so we skip the one we thought we just pressed and all of the sudden a guy comes out on his balcony and starts talking to us like we pressed his bell. We made an appointment to go see him next Saturday and he said yeah make sure you bell 63. Then he went inside. Elder Claflin and I looked at each other and were a bit confused... Neither of us had pressed number 63, we skipped it because we thought we pressed it but looking back we pressed the one above it and below it and not that one. It was super cool.

And we set another baptismal date with a lady for the 22 of Feb but we will probably have to move it back. He story is pretty crazy. She tells us the same stories a lot but she loves Jesus and has never been baptized. And she accepted a date to work for it.

Crazy story of the week. Monday night we were going to FHE for the Jovos and we were bringing an investigator. We are probably 3 miles from the station and that usually takes about 20 mins to bike going at a good speed not fast but not slow. So its 7:05 and we have to catch the 7:18 train. CRAP. We head out and now its about 7:07 and we haul. and Claflin almost hits an old lady on an electric wheelchair and we still haul and then he almost got hit by a car. literally a foot from getting hit. then we park our bikes and sprint and hop in the train as the doors close... I nearly threw up. I like couldn't see. Claflin was a biker before the mission. oh and we ate three pounds of meatloaf right before we left! so nuts. We had to make this train for our investigator. then on the way home we have to make the 9:02 train and its about a 7 to 10 min walk to the jovo place. It's 8:56 and I'm like Claf we need to go. By the time we leave its 8:58 and we just take of. Sprinting to catch the train. I couldn't breathe! haha again We just in the train and the doors close. Such a sick p day literally sick. I about threw up again!!! haha it was super fun though!

Pretty solid week though. Taught some good lessons and found some awesome potentials.
Love you guys so much!!

Awesome week

Hey fam!
And now I will explain why the email didn't work last week. So Elder Claflin and I were emailing later than usual and all of the sudden the internet broke down at the library and so we couldn't send any emails.  haha
Awesome week this week! We really didn't teach that many lessons but it was still awesome!
Tuesday we taught Ruben and Vincent again and they are struggling a little bit. They love when we come over but they haven't gotten a for sure answer and they haven't come to church yet. Bummer. But we can see their future and its too great to give up! We also brought a member with us. Amarron. He plays pro soccer and has so many tattoos and was addicted to drugs and drinking and his life is completely changed by the gospel. Super amazing story.
We also did a ton of finding this week. and it paid off pretty good. We found a couple new potentials and a couple people said they would come to church. The best contact was on saturday night we contacted a couple in the centrum and they blew right past us and the guy said we were crazy for what we believed in. But the wife came back and said are you Mormons? she had been to church with a guy before and so the guy started going nuts and Elder  Claflin took him and I talked to the wife. Claflins the man! He owned the guy with the spirit! And I had a nice conversation with the woman and she said she would come to church sometime! But I don't know all that happened in Claflins conversation but the guys heart was definitely softened. He didn't want to learn more but there was a change in him. The coolest part was people were listening to us and stopping and listening and then after we finished someone contacted us! haha so sweet :)
We also had some service opportunities and those were really good for the members that we helped.
The BvM feast is so sick! Literally I have more knowledge from reading it right now that before my mission. I didn't realize how much it talks about the restoration and Joseph Smith and its just super cool! The BvM is amazing! People just tear it down and sometimes that makes me know more that its true. Its exactly what happened to Jesus Christ. The lady actually asked me if people are mean to us and what do we think when it happens. and I told her that I love it. Its definitely hard to take sometimes but when I really think about it I love it. Because its what happened to Jesus. And we are representatives of him so why should I expect anything less then what Jesus did or what happened to him? its incredible what he went through to bring the Gospel and establish the Church and it give me a perspective of what he went through and actually brings me closer to him because he had compassion on those people and sometimes for me they just tick me off. But it really helps me realize all that he did for me and how hard it actually was for him! IT WASN'T EASY! But he did it cause he loves us :)
I love and miss you all! Being a missionary is awesome! Cant wait for Wes and Coll to come experience it :)

We almost got a letter...

[Dallin must have run short on time. We didn't receive a letter today but Wesley got a few sentences so we'll share that with you and wait for his letter next week...]

Things are great here. I'm doing really well. We have two baptisms on Feb. 15th.  On Friday I went on exchanges with the Finnish elder and we set two baptismal dates. one in Dutch and the other in Spanish :) (Karissa still doesn't believe I speak it) haha so that was super cool for the Enschede elders :)

Fireworks and Baptismal Dates. Happy New Year!

Fam!
Gelukkig Nieuwe Jaar!   New Years here was so sweet! Literally you can't sleep through it even if you wanted to! There are so many Fireworks and they are loud. Its all legal here! It was really awesome though! Click on Time-laps vuurwerk boven Enschede 2014 that is super cool!  A member showed us when I was on exchanges :)

We have two new baptismal dates :) Ruben and Vincent. They are 1 and 2 years older than us and they are super excited about the Gospel! its so sick! They smoke and stuff but want to stop really bad! Vincent has a tattoo on his right arm and asked can I still go to the Celestial Kingdom even if I have this tattoo? Talk about two guys that are prepared for the gospel :)

Transfers are this week but I'm so glad that both elder Claflin and I are staying. Last transfer was kind of lastig [difficult] with investigators cause everyone was gone with the holidays but they are all coming back soon :)
I met this guy from Enschede when I was on exchanges. He loves the Packers and I told him I liked the art in his house and he gave me one to give to dad :) haha it was so awesome!

So we have three hours of study everyday. An hour of personal and an hour of comp and an hour of language. Every week we study a Christlike attribute assigned from Pres. This week was Moroni 10 and D&C 67. and the question was Why do I want to become like Christ. First thing that comes to my head is obviously cause he is perfect. But then I started thinking and my favorite thing about Christ is His love and Mercy and I really focused more on that this week and its amazing to see the Love Christ had for everyone. I don't know how to explain beside perfect haha :) Its cool to see how he spent his time and with who and the compassion he had on those that didn't always follow him. That is something I want and I've really been thinking about it this week. I want that love that Christ has. I'm definitely not perfect at it but I can tell the difference when I think about it and when I don't. Its super cool. That is something Ive have learned here out on my mission. Love is Key. Without it we are nothing!
I love and miss you guys!
