Heavenly Father Speaks to Us

Fam,

We had a great week this week!

We went to some of the Zone Trainings and they all did really good! I was really uplifted and learned a lot!

We got to teach Ilona a couple times this week! She is not doing too good. She is really sick. But she is incredible. She is in a lot of pain. She told us that when she has a lot of pain she picks up the Book of Mormon and reads and it helps her feel better. She is such a strong woman! One of the most incredible people I have met on my mission! She is a great example to me! It was so sad though because she thought we would be here forever. We told her that we were going home in May and July and she started crying... She said why does every good thing have to be taken away from me. It was so sad... But the cool story is she told us that her dad had a friend that must of been Mormon because her dad would tell her the stories of the Book of Mormon. So when she reads the Book of Mormon she thinks of her dad and she loves it!

We also watched Joseph Smith prophet of the Restoration with Andre this week. He is awesome! He has changed his life and is so happy!

Sorry that this letter is so short! I love you all.

I am so grateful for the Gospel. That God speaks to us! That we can receive revelation! Its so cool that he gives us revelation no matter where we are in life or what we are doing! Heavenly Father wants to help us with everything! I'm in no way perfect at receiving revelation. I still have a long way to go. But I am really starting to understand what it is and how important it is to us in our lives. I am so grateful for a Father in Heaven that is willing to speak to us! :)

I love you all!!

The Gospel will always be there for me

Fam!

This letter will probably be really short. Its been a crazy week!

We planned a lot for a presentation we gave today and for the following weeks. Not much to talk about their. I gave my presentation and I told a story about dad! :) I love telling stories about dad. I'm sure he would tell me not to but I have to :)
The presentation went really well though.

Bad news of the week is that Ilona is in the hospital. So sad! Everything is going against her right now but she still reads the Book of Mormon and loves when we come over. Hopefully we will be able to visit her in the next couple weeks in the hospital. Her daughter wouldn't let us but hopefully this week!

We taught a man named Johannes this week. It was really cool because we would ask him questions and his answer was always brought back to faith in Jesus Christ. Everything he does is based off of his faith in Jesus Christ. I thought that was super cool. He didn't understand a lot of the Dutch church words so hopefully we can get a Book of Mormon in his language because he really wants to read it.

I have realized the strength that I received from the gospel. The gospel was always there for me. I'm so grateful that I have realized that on my mission. I truly have gained a stronger testimony of the gospel and understand it a lot better than I did before my mission. I know that it will always be there for me. Whenever I have a trail in the future I know that the gospel will be there to rescue me you could say. :)

Sorry for the short email... I'm terrible at writing. :) I love you all very much though.

Love,
Elder Bosco

The gospel changes people. It changes people because its true.

Fam!

Awesome week! When you are a missionary is hard not to have an awesome week! :) Of course there are hard ones but its still awesome to be a missionary!

Ilona is back in the Netherlands! So I got to teach her with Elder Neptune on Wednesday. Incredible. She is such a strong lady. She was in Hungary because her granddaughter is sick and it was really sad to hear the news that her granddaughter passed away.. We talked to her and just listened and she was sad but then we talked about the plan of salvation and testified to her that she will see her granddaughter again and she said I know I just need to help my daughter understand that. She was very sad but it was so cool to see that she understood the plan. And even though its hard she knew that it would be better and that she would see her again. We then asked her how it was going with the word of wisdom... She told us that she hasnt smoked or had coffee or tea in 3 weeks!!! She is loving it! She told us the only bummer is that she has gained some weight haha :) But she feels so much better and is so happy! The Gospel is amazing. It changes people! It brings hope. :) Then we talked to her about baptism and she asked if she could still be baptized one the 22nd and we told her no because she has to come to church 3 times before she can. And she was so sad. She was like I need to come to church it will help me. Im coming for sure on sunday. :)

Andre had his baptismal interview and he is getting baptized tomorrow!! I dont even know what to say about Andre. He is unbelievable. I love him so much.

Today for p-day we are going midget golfing. Dont ask me why its called that. I will send some pictures next week! :)

I am so grateful for the Gospel. For the lessons it has taught me for the man its made me. And yes I am a man now! :) hahaha The gospel changes people. It changes people because its true. I love you all!!

This week's miracle

Fam!

This week has been really busy! We have been planning for a lot of things and taking people to the airport and dropping them off. Crazy! To crazy to explain over email. So I'm going to tell you the miracle we had this week.

Yesterday we had an appointment with Andre and it was right before sports night and it takes him about 40 minutes to bike to the church. We had called and texted him to make sure that he was coming. And we got nothing. So we were kind of worried that he wasn't going to show up. Sometimes its hard and we doubt a lot. But he showed up. And it was a lesson to me. When people want to change they will do anything to do it. We taught him about temple work and family history and he kind of got sad and said it would be hard. But we told him that there are experts who can help him and he just beamed and had a smile on his face! It was really cool! He also told us that he told his sister about his baptism and she has been searching for something. Hopefully she comes to the baptism! Andre is doing really well and is getting ready for his baptism Next sunday! :) Then at the end of the lesson he prayed and he thanked God that we were that and that he could change and to give him the strength to come to church every week. Incredible what the gospel does. I was talking to Sister Robinson about it this week. A lot of people would think its crazy that Andre is getting baptized... (example one is that he has THUGGIN tattooed down his arm. he has a stud in his ear) But the gospel shows us that the inside changes and when we except these people that the outside will come with it.

The gospel is truly amazing. It changes lives! I have seen it first hand with Andre. He knows he has done some wrong things and that is why he wants to get baptized so bad. He wants to be clean! Don't we all? Yet we see these people and doubt or don't accept them. But isn't this the purpose of the gospel? To find those that need a change. That need a Savior. Change is what the gospel brings. So next time you see someone walk into church that doesn't "fit in" or that doesn't keep the commandments 100% sit back and realize that it takes courage to do what they are doing and then rejoice that they made the choice to come back or to join the fold. We are to quick to judge and to stereo type those around us. And make them feel welcome. We want them there! We want them to change! And because of Him it is possible that they can change. Encourage them to keep going and to never give up. That's when they will really want to change is when people accept them for them. Who cares what they have done in the past. What matters is what they are doing now to change.

I love you! We are giving a fireside to the ym yw in the Antwerpen stake. It should be a lot of fun!!

Love Elder Bosco

Then we received this fun surprise from this sweet family in Vlissingen (his second area)

Hi Bosco Family,
How are you? We hope you are all doing fine.
This weekend we had a chance to see Elder Bosco again.

My husband and I have been called as the Stake Young Men and Stake Young Women president.
Last Saturday we had a stake YM & YW activity in Breda.
We organized 4 workshops and Elder Bosco and his colleague Elder Bourne also presented one.
We had such a great activity!

Yesterday we visited family in Zoetermeer and sister Robinson invited us to come to a special musical fireside in the evening. It was amazing!
And Elder Bosco and Elder Bourne were there, too.

Of course we sent you some pictures.

It is always great and much fun to see the Elders that have been serving with us in Vlissingen!

We hope you will have a great week,
lieve groetjes from Vlissingen,
the Van Eijzeren's.
